Description & History

World Sport Chicago is a private, non-profit organization that teaches positive values and leadership through sport. We act on the belief that sport has the power to strengthen individuals, and in turn, Chicago’s communities and collaborate with several community partners, public agencies and sports organizations to deliver impact and create change. Through sports programming and mentorship, World Sport Chicago provides youth from under-served communities with the character tools they need to overcome neighborhood risk factors and forge their own path in society at large.

We do this by:

·         Fostering environments of play, training and competition where young people can learn about themselves and others,

·         Leveraging the service of trained mentors to engage youth, families and communities,

·         Creating lasting, sustainable and intentional work,

·         Sharing our effective practices and innovations, and

Advocating sport-for-all, regardless of physical or visual disabilities.
