Volunteer opportunity description

Homework help runs during the school year. Many of our tutors come from Loyola and DePaul but we particularly welcome those who can commit to the entire school year. Most volunteers work one or two evenings a week. We need a lot of volunteers as all the kids have different homework assignements. The Rohingya were deprived of their Citizenship in their home country of Myanmar and one of the result of this was their being forced into illiteracy. The parents of our children are unable to help their children with their homework and that is where are wonderful volunteers come in. We welcome volunteers of all faiths and ages. Only requirement is patience, love of children and fluency in English with basic knowledge to help these K-8th graders! It's fun and very rewarding!

Our needs are that you be fluent in English and have a basic educational background.

This is an ongoing program that runs the length of the school year. There is no training involved. We have employees that will help get you situated.

Our volunteer needs

We need volunteers who are free at these times
